Biography of The Rev. Rob Manzinger, Ph.D.
Pastor Rob Manzinger grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia, Warminster PA, where he graduated from William Tennent High School, and attended the Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1980 with a B.A. degree in Social Welfare, and served his senior year internship working as a client advocate for adjudicated delinquents at the Philadelphia Public Defender’s Association.
Upon graduation, Rob worked for 5 years as a Counsellor and Assistant Director in Community Living Arrangement (CLA) residential homes for developmentally disabled adults in Philadelphia. He also served as a youth pastor his senior year in seminary. He graduated from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Seminary) in 1985 with his Master of Divinity degree. Rob was ordained by the Philadelphia Baptist Association of the ABC at the Hatboro Baptist Church in 1985 and he served his first church as a minister in Woodstown, New Jersey.
The call to "Go west, young man" took Rob to Denver, Colorado, where he graduated with his Ph.D. degree in Religious Studies from the University of Denver and the Iliff School of Theology in 1996; his area of concentration was in Philosophy, Theology, and Cultural Studies. Rob enjoys teaching and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, Colorado State University, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Temple University and currently teaches a class in Ethics or Philosophy at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport.
Rob has served as a pastor in churches in New Jersey, Colorado, and Pennsylvania before coming to Williamsport.
He enjoys sports (an avid Eagles and Phillies fan), movies, music, the mountains, comedy, reading, and traveling.
